More like a Pamphlet

I really find myself scratching my head from all of the good reviews. When I first received this "book" I thought that Amazon or the company sending it to me had forgotten to put the darn thing in the package- it's like an inch thick! No, really! It also looks like the book was put together in shop class. But for the actual 'content' it's just, "Write this much today! Okay, buckle down now, you've got this!" Chapters are- Week One, Week Two, etc.) And inside those Chapters are just paragraphs clumped together saying how much you should write each day. This book is supposed to be about, erm, writing books but the author (Pendergrass, really?) just slapped the whole thing together. Kind of a, 'Do as I say, not as I do' sort of thing. A really big waste of glue, staples would've sufficed. All in all, I would recommend other books rather than this. But let's be honest here- it's a pamphlet, not a book.
On a personal note- If you have to RESEARCH to write a book (I understand you may have to site things or be technical) But if you have to Actually, look up how to write your topic- PLEASE, PLEASE, Do the world a favor and don't even think about writing a book. This is what she talks about in the beginning of the book "Don't know what to write about? Well, just see what piques your interest!" No, I'm sorry, that is NOT how you write a book. Maybe a bibliography, or if you have a class assignment. But if you're supposed to be writing your own ideas (which is why you're writing a book in the first place, I HOPE!) then why would you have to 'dig deep' in research or 'try to come up with an idea for a book topic?' Hmm, I really like trees. (wakes up one morning) I know, I'll write a book on trees!" Speaking of trees, save us all some oxygen for a few more decades and save paper by not writing something that doesn't set your soul on fire. If money is what you're after, you could look into real estate. And where do you get the whole, 'You'll only need five chapters," gig? Arghh! There's so much more but I'll stop rambling here. Please write if you feel a calling to but don't just write to get a quick buck- you'll get something like this.

Relatable writing guide

I've always thought about writing a book. We all have unique experiences that may pique other people's interest and relate to some. This book was perfect in getting me to the state I wanted to be in for a year now. It puts you in the right mindset with the time frames it included and how long you should be spending your time per chapter. It can definitely help you write in 30 days and the author's approach was direct that you could feel that she is talking to you. Great guide!

Excellent Helper and Guide

I really enjoyed reading this one. Amy writes with a nice conversational style that is easy to digest. Her tone and flow keeps the reader interested throughout. Her strategy for writing an ebook in thirty days is a good one and just the guide most procrastinators need to write and publish that book without too much unnecessary stress. This one is a keeper to use and refer back to often during your writing process.
