The Field Book To Thine Own Self Be True

Jay Niblick in What's Your Genius has woven 7 years of research, personal stories and opportunities for individual reflection in such a way upon finishing the book the reader truly has become far more self aware. And awareness is the first step to change. Now the reader can walk the path to success with a quicker and more defined pace because the fog is gone and understanding now lights the pathway. Jay also made some significant distinctions in the definition of common words such as talent and non-talents versus strengths and weaknesses that ultimately affect overall personal and organizational performance. This book could be aptly renamed "The Authentic Field Book to Thine Own Self Be True." It goes beyond plethora of self-help books in that it is truly helps individuals who want to become better at what they do, but have yet to figure how to do just that. The abbreviated explanation of the 7 Genius Patterns at the end of the book are an added bonus. Jay's book is an easy read and a must for those who are stuck or who wish to move to that next level of success be them managers to sales professionals who want to be The Red Jacket in a sea of gray suits

How-to on Authenticity

It seems like divine providence that while I am preparing a keynote address on "Authenticity" that Jay Niblick releases his book "What's Your Genius?" You might call "What's Your Genius?" a how-to book on authenticity and more. I have always said that "leadership starts with authentic self-expression that adds value through relationships." In this important new book Jay describes how to raise your level of authenticity and increase your self-awareness, and how these together positively affect your performance as well as your personal happiness, fulfillment and, I say, your leadership potential. Discovering your genius and living to it are keys to becoming the authentic leader. Thank you Jay Niblick!

A Real Eye Opener!

This book truly is a must read if you've struggled to find satisfaction in your work--or even if you like your work but there are aspects that frustrate you. Raised in a "buck up and overcome your flaws" family, it just never occurred to me that there was a much smarter and more effective way. This book opened my eyes to the concept of recognizing your natural strengths and inclinations and mastering them instead of fumbling around trying "fix" all of your limitations. If you're amazing at what you do, people want you on their team and will make accommodations in the "job description" just to keep you. Virtually all the Masters I know that are the leaders in their fields got there by playing to their strengths and doing what they loved. They weren't suffering through a never-ending battle of "trying to make it," they were simply doing what they loved, were passionate about and had an aptitude for. Becoming a Master was simply the natural result of that.
